Default Puzzle Magazine

The new Puzzle Magazine is semi-released now. It will have a full release soon, but if anybody on these forums would like to give it a try now, it's all set to go.

Click here to download the demo. If you like the demo, subscribing is easy! Simply go to our store and purchase a one time or recurring subscription, and you'll be all set. If you do subscribe, please answer the questions here and send them to bob at coregames dot com. Also write your account name in the email. I know it says the offer ends on November 30, but we're extending it to December 20th.

We will set your account to get 75 puzzles a week rather than 50! It's that simple!

I hope everyone enjoys the Puzzle Magazine, and rest assured we have a few more surprises just around the corner for subscribers. Tell your friends and family and have a great time playing these puzzles!

Thumbs up Fantastic Job on Puzzle Mag!

I'm really excited about all the FUN puzzles to play in this. Just starting to investigate all the different kinds. LOVE the chess & poker games. Pipes & Word Toss are so cool looking and real fun. Equations is really interesting as is Latin Squares. This is just a few of them I've tried so far.
There's even fun music to get you in the mood

Just ordered a full year subsciption for $42.95.
Where in the world can you get this much entertainment for a whole year for that????
Then was pleasently surprised with ever more types of puzzles not shown in the demo.

THANK YOU Core Team for a terrific Christmas gift!
(That I can enjoy for a whole Year).
I can see a tremendous amount of work has been put into this, and I ,for one, REALLY appreciate it.
GREAT JOB!

Default Summations puzzle tips

Greetings! I enjoy the new puzzle magazine format and I'm planning to buy the full version in the near future. Here's a tip I'd like to share for anyone trying to solve Summations puzzles. Summations is very similar to Kakuro (or Cross Sums, if you prefer), and I've worked Kakuro puzzles for years. When you have 4 by 4 blocks in a Kakuro or Summations puzzle, depending on the positioning, you can add the two horizontal sums and then subtract the vertical sum from that total, and this will give you a value that the remaining two squares must add up to. Sometimes you'll add two vertical sums together and then subtract the horizontal sum. To make this easier to understand look at the 9 by 9 Summations puzzle for the 28th. On the very right side there is such a "block," with two horizontal sums of 11 and 8, and a vertical sum of 9. Adding the horizontal sums, 11 + 8 = 19, and then subtracting the vertical of sum of 9 gives a total of 10. The two vertical squares, with a bar in between them, thus add up to 10. There are other "blocks" like this one throughout this puzzle. It helps to make notes
so that one can significantly narrow down possible numbers for each square.
I hope what I've attempted to explain here helps with solving these puzzles. Please feel free to ask any questions if you're still not sure. Good luck!
