The Amygdala Series - Tears of Lava I’ve designed an experience consisting of 3 different areas (games) which are linked together with portals. These three different areas represent different functions of an area called the Amygdala in the brain. The Amygdala, involved with the experiencing of emotions, is best known to be associated with the conception of fear. In the first area we are looking at an infinite sky with stars which are actually neuron cells. As we solve the riddle and go through the portal, we arrive at the second area. Cheshire Cat makes it clear that Alice needs to face her deepest fear in the darkest corner of her splintered mind, otherwise Wonderland will dissappear into the void. Deep down in Alice’s mind, lies a great horror. What she fears to confront, her biggest trauma, the fire. This area contains symbolic trophies of some of her formal enemies, representing her rage and desperation against the unfortunate loss of her family and the events that followed. At the center of that you can see three chess pieces burning in flames, impossible to rescue without jumping into the lava. Then if you go upstairs you will reach another portal which leads to the Memory part of Amygdala. If you inspect some surroundings there you will experience some of the memory records Alice has. Please do look around. Hope you enjoy it.
